Artist Bio | Tara Shoemaker
Tara Shoemaker is a Rhode Island-based artist working in watercolor and mixed media.
Her paintings explore themes of wonder, longing, hope, and revelation through the natural world. Using watercolor, mixed media, and touches of iridescence, she creates atmospheric landscapes that balance observation with emotional and spiritual resonance.
Raised on the Great Plains of Nebraska and now living in Rhode Island, Shoemaker is drawn to expansive skies, changing light, and ordinary moments that seem charged with deeper meaning. Her paintings are inspired by the belief that beauty can serve as a doorway to reflection, inviting viewers to consider what lies beyond the surface of things.
Shoemaker has exhibited with the Conanicut Island Art Association and the South County Art Association. She is a member of the South County Art Association and the Professional Artist Association. Her paintings are held in private collections in the United States.
