I paint landscapes because beauty is important.

I don't say this in a decorative sense, but in the sense that beauty tells the truth.

I am inspired by ordinary moments: sunlight breaking through a storm, clouds gathering on a distant horizon, light filtering through trees. Their beauty seems to demand a response out of proportion to their apparent significance. They quiet the noise of daily life and remind me that the world is larger, deeper, wilder, more ancient, and more meaningful than I often remember.

The landscape bears unmistakable signs of brokenness, yet it remains astonishingly beautiful. That paradox sits at the center of my work. I am drawn to places where light makes an ordinary landscape feel unexpectedly profound.

I do not paint to document a scene exactly as it appears. I paint to capture the feeling that there is more here than first meets the eye—that behind and beyond the visible world is an ancient, eternal reality that gives meaning to it. 

The world is broken, yet glory still shines around all the edges. My work is an attempt to honor those moments of revelation and invite others into them.
